blossomingchaos' 50 favourite songs of 2025

Long time no see! The return of the blog Blossoming Chaos and here we go again with MY favourite songs of 2025. It's January at the time of writing this (yet again) and it's been too long since my the last list, so here goes nothing. As before, this list isn’t in any particular order nor will I be doing any rating or reviewing of these songs just giving my thoughts as to why this stuff is cool. Alright enough of the fluff, Let's go!

underscore - Music

Let's start of with some music. While "Hyperpop" kind of fizzled out and the artists who built the scene evolved to make music in different directions that I wasn't particularly a fan of, underscores who started gaining attention during the scene's heyday suprised me with Music. An electronic pop banger where underscores compares her feelings of love to the breadth of emotions felt when listening to music. The bass constantly oscillating and then the waves of synths like fairy dust during the chorus, also the last stretch of the track with the vocals almost reminiscent of Katy Perry, it's damn near pop perfection *chefs kiss*. This is indeed music!

underscores - Do It

underscores continued to deliver pop bangers in 2025 with Do It, here channeling her inner Britney Spears. Music was great but somehow Do It is better, ticking all the boxes for a quintessential pop song including having a suprising R&B bridge reminiscent of certain Red Velvet tracks that pleasantly contrasts with the heaviness of the track. With the singles so far being this good the upcoming album is going to be insane.

rommulas - No Me Importa

Yes it's 2025 and I'm still listening to stuff which sounds like it should blow out eardrums. rommulas a member of 2hollis's musical collective boyliife debuts with a abrasive Spanish tune to blow up your speakers. The instrumental on this track is downright head splitting sounding like the auditory equivalent of getting your head caved in. Baile funk combined with sections of 2020s trap production all turned up to 11 thanks to 2hollis compliments rommulas's vocal delivery which occasionally turns downright ghoulish. It doesn't let you breathe for nearly a second and when it lets you go at the end you just wanna rewind for more.

The Twins - SLUMDOG

British-Pakistani duo The Twins are reviving the British-Asian underground, fully embracing their own culture and making something brand new. British-Asian and even South Asian artists in general haven't really been prominent in western pop culture and when artists do become popular like Jai Paul and M.I.A it doesn't really last as the former sporadically releases music and hasn't released a new song in over 5 years while the latter has gone full conspiracy theorist selling tin foil hats for $100, so when artists like The Twins come around with music like this it's like getting exactly what you wanted for Christmas. Combining Bollywood samples with the pulse of 2010s indie sleaze electronic music The Twins music feels so fresh.

The Twins - TURMERIC

The Twins debut album TURMERIC was a sleeper hit for me in 2025. The title track showcases what makes the duo so great with them sampling an obscure Alka Yagnik track (how did they find this) into a thumping electronic track that feels like your heart is gonna beat out of your chest. The sample chops careen throughout while the bass keeps blasting for an unexpected combination that somehow works. The Twins are proud of their South Asian heritage and you can hear this throughout their album, definitely one of the best debuts of 2025.

Len - pinktesla

The UK is undoubtedly having a moment right now with so many artists making some of the best music at the moment. 2 years ago Len had more in common with artists like Lancey Foux but is now really coming into his own with a lot of his newer music incorporating elements from African music, making him stand out amongst his peers. Len delivers a insanely dancey tune where he boasts and brags while the instrumental sounds like what a rave would sound if you were zooming around on a spaceship, Intergalactic stuff!

SINN6R & TeeboFG - Me & You

SINN6R had a hell of a run in 2025, dropping 2 albums in the span of 6 months and having multiple songs gain a suprising amount of traction on TikTok. His most recent album #FEDERAL caught me by suprise as it might be one off the best albums of 2025. Bass envelopes each track setting the scene for hedonism where SINN6R dexterously flows channelling mid 2010s trap and drill. He might come of somewhat edgy sometimes (his name is "Sinner with a 6") but he's certainly one of the UK's most interesting artists.

snoa - addicted prod fbs

snoa is the UK's hidden gem and is one of the most promising artists coming out the underground scene at the moment. addicted is being in the middle of a natural disaster where the earth is crumbling beneath your feet, snoa's vocals are the only thing keeping you out of harms way, levitating you above the ground to safety while chaos ensues. snoa's vocals are suprisingly good compared to a lot of artists in the underground scene as sometimes artists have the AutoTune do a lot of the heavy lifting (I love AutoTune by the way) but here it sounds like he's really putting his heart and soul into the music.

snoa - looking for a reason prod cutspace katebii

Often rappers talk about how great they are, stating they're the best, inflating their egos to a colossal degree, but here snoa is positioning himself as a everyman, "stuck in the mix, exactly the same as all of you other man". Inspiring everyone to disregard the doubters, to keep with it and eventually you'll make it. The instrumental sounds like your in the middle of a technological wasteland where snow is constantly falling and your trying to hack into an ancient computer, it's one of kind.

Snupe - Yes hello?

West London's Snupe looks like they've barely entered their teenage years yet delivers a raw UK rap banger detailing the ugly reality of street life where anything goes when trying to make quick cash. While UK rap and drill have exploded to immense proportions and major labels take over, the scene has somewhat scrubbed itself clean over the years so when Snupe presents their experiences so explicitly with bars "Yes hello? what can I help with, crack cocaine and heroine gets dealt with" you get taken aback thinking "this is fucked up". The subject matter isn't new at all but when put so plainly in front of you, you can't help but think about how mad reality is.

BNYX®, Len - Where You Been

Let's lighten things up a little. Len fully embraces his roots with the help of BNYX. Once you hear this you can't help to bust a move. Len is really charming on this one with bars "The way that your body go up and down like the BTC" and "She asked me a question, she said, "Len, what do you see in me?"(I said, "Me")". BNYX also suprises on this one as a producer who's most popular for his work with Yeat, now producing a highlife fusion heater. Len and BNYX are an undeniable duo and we definitely need more music.

Feng - Who do u wanna be

Feng brings back cloud rap to inspire you to make the most of your life and follow your dreams. Dreamy sample chops evocative of cloud rap pioneers Clams CasinoFriendzone and Yung Gud, you can't help but reminisce days long past and contemplate your life. The instrumental heightens Feng's lyrics in spite of their simplicity making them feel all the more impactful. The 2020s has felt like a nostalgia fest but this feels genuine and tasteful.

Jim Legxacy - I just banged a snus in canada water

Jim Legxacy continues to be the UK's pride. Highlighting his rise from "poverty to popstar", looking back on his days of trying to make something of himself despite the short hand he was given. The piano melody gives off the vibes of a JRPG battle theme where you're reflecting on how far you've came, the people you met across your journey and what you lost in the process. Jim Legxacy continues to bring together his eclectic tastes together while still managing to sound approachable.

Jim Legxacy - sun

Jim Legxacy and Fimiguerrero team up for the pefect morning after the party track. Fimiguerrero has recently evolved into being able to create some of the best hooks in recent years and continues to do that here and while he may not sound as hungry as he used to, he's still grown into one of the more interesting artists coming out of the UK. A blisteringly hot summer day where you're hungover slowly trying to make sense of what happened the day before. Jim Legxacy shines like always and includes a interpolation of a J Hus classic that fits in too well.

Young Eman - popstar in the bits

"BAD MODEL BITCH IN MY YAWRD"

Unapologetically British and abrasive. Sheffield's Young Eman teams up with Eline De Sainté Vherodia to deliver something only possible to come out the UK. Eline's thick accent (that I can't quite place) is the obvious star of the show evocative of the girls who would be hanging around the estate just loitering. Eline's accent is so infectious you can't help but repeat  "BAD MODEL BITCH IN MY YAWRD" and "IMMA POPSTAR IN THE BITS" over and over. Earth shattering production sounding as if your fighting against the final boss of a video game while you only have a sliver of health remaining.

Finessekid - Like Sosa

Where "paying homage" in Hip Hop is more over saturated than ever, Finessekid tastefully honours one of the most influential Hip Hop artists of the last decade. This has both the catchiest hook of 2025 and the most accurate imitation of Chief Keef's iconic adlib "bang bang". Instead of opting for the more obvious Chief Keef type beat, we get a bouncy instrumental which sounds like we should be travelling through time in a Tardis. The flow is solid yet feels like it could go anywhere matching the bouncy feel of the instrumental. For a newcomer who doesn't have much under his belt, Finessekid effortlessly proves he can stand toe to toe with the greats.

kwes e - fela kuti

kwes e tributes Nigerian musical pioneer Fela Kuti likening himself to the great, giving him his necessary flowers with a song good enough that a comparison like this doesn't stain his legacy. There's almost a melancholic vibe with the vocals like he's lost something along his journey to be where he's at now. When looking back on the journey of success there are sacrifices and losses which are made along the way and it feels like that feeling is encapsulated within this despite lyrics mostly consisting of flexing. The instrumental also carries this melancholic vibe but once you hear that percussion you can't help but groove.

N4T - I LIKE

Cracked out bouyon. If you don't feel the energy bursting out of this track there really must be something wrong with your ears. This song just smacks you in the face, it's what I imagine the feeling of snorting a line of cocaine would feel like. There might be certain elements of the song which may throw you off at first like it's brisk pace or the high pitch vocals that could communicate with dolphins but like the taste of sour candy it first assaults you and you can't help to stagger but then slowly you start to appreciate it and then soon enough you grow addicted. A burst of energy distilled into music form.

Paxslim - AFRICA ONLY

Might be cheating with this one because this is probably just a snippet from Nigerian-Swiss artist Paxslim's upcoming project AFRICA ONLY but I feel like there's enough here to justify it and it was too good to pass up. This bitesize piece of what's to come is a futuristic take on afrobeats that feels like the soundtrack to an adventure across the globe and beyond. The orchestral elements are what gives it's cinematic atmosphere but the percussion keeps it firmly rooted in afrobeats territory alongside the chipmunk pitch vocals that appear in the second half. It's tiny length (not even surpassing a minute) will always leave you craving for more which will make you keep replaying it to infinitum.

SARAFINA THE GREAT - GUN SLINGER (PISTOLET COUPÈ DÉCALÉ)

US-based Ivorian artist SARAFINA THE GREAT is reviving Coupé-décalé, a genre which had its heyday during the 2000s and early 2010s that still remains popular but has somewhat become stagnant as of late. Imbuing the attitude and personality of modern Hip Hop into Coupé-décalé, bringing a fresh take on the genre. Confidence brims from SARAFINA and its highly contagious, you'll be feeling untouchable and motivated to get to that bag. The piano is also guaranteed to stick in your head repeating almost to tedium but enough sounds come and go to keep it fresh. SARAFINA has the potential to be big as she has familiarities to many current female rappers as well as the combination of both French and English in her music.

Theodora - MON BÉBÉ (Free kitty version)

Parisian Theodora is a star ready to take over the world. A bouncy bouyon track with a hint of production elements that you might find in recent Hip Hop, Theodora talks her shit about being a freaky woman and being THAT BITCH. The song is filled with sexual energy, making you wanna shake what your momma gave you. The melody making you think you're getting a call from a 2000s Nokia brick phone gives a nostalgic feeling while also injecting an odd sense of urgency to the track, giving it that little extra dose of energy. It's strange that Theodora isn't much more well known as she has all the qualities of an artist who would be known across the globe.

Hyroshii - TENSION prod Keyzee

TENSION feels like if you combined a trap with experimental industrial noise. The start of the track might mislead you into thinking it'll drop into a typical trap beat and then you get severe whiplash when it actually does transporting you into what sounds like a construction site in the year 2093. Hyroshii speeds across the beat like it's a walk in the park and doesn't stop, ALL GAS, NO BRAKES. What the hell is going on in France to create stuff like this, it's mental.

Serane - DISTANT LOVERS (prod. Milanezie)

It's astonishing to think that artists are still building on the foundations of plugg music almost a decade after it's inception. All the more wild is the fact that the subgenre manages to thrive overseas in places like France. Parisian Serane is one the key figures in the French plugg scene who helped popularise the music in the country. Serane gets you in your feelings with an ode to his long distance relationships with Milanezie who creates a R&B tinged plugg production still managing to sound fresh while still including the staple sounds of what make plugg.

PinkPantheress - Stateside

This is the soundtrack to the peak of my delusions. The story begins with me solo travelling for the first time in Helsinki and I decide to sit on a bench, taking in the scenery, I decide to listen to the new PinkPantheress album as I hadn't really been listening to any music on the trip. I get to this song enjoying myself but then I hear one lyric "All the boys out here are the same" (instead of "are all boys out here the same?") me thinking she's referring to people in the UK, I was shocked, all my chances (zero at that point) of being with this woman had been crushed, I was utterly defeated. I still listened to the whole album but that one lyric had stuck with me, I had to accept that I could never be with this woman (again, the chances were zero). Despite the affliction the song had caused me I still thought that this was one of the better songs on the album. The instrumental reminded me of spy movies oddly, this could be either the intro sequence or the credits theme to an Mission Impossible movie where you see Tom Cruise running, racing against the clock to save the country.

Upon coming to my senses (and realising I misheard that lyric) I have a greater appreciation for the song feeling that PinkPantheress is coming into her own, showcasing her capability and versatility, not just being pigeonholed into the "Y2K" sounds she had been known for and expanding herself into an all round popstar.

PinkPantheress - Noises + JT

Treading more familiar terrority through jungle music (not drum and bass), PinkPantheress delivers a track which despite even reading the lyrics I can't quite place. In spite of the lack of understanding of the song, it feels like her continuing to do what made her so popular but expanding it in a way that still feels novel. An absolutley absurd sample choice that surprisingly works will leave you saying "what the fuck is that?" any chance you get. Also shout out to JT for delivering the bar "I'm on a island high as fuck counting palm trees" because that is hilarious (If you listen carefully I think you can hear her cracking up as well).

HavinMotion - Tappin N Pacin

HavinMotion manages to pull off rapping on one of the strangest DMV beats in recent years. Sampling one of the most sampled artists in Hip Hop while still managing to sound unique, the percussion from the very beginning skitters and scatters and when the beat drops the bass continuosly slips and slides like you've lost your balance on ice but you haven't fell on your arse yet. All the eclectic choices in the production yet it still manages to sound like a DMV beat. HavinMotion easily flows on the beat like it's nothing new which is absurd.

che - BLACK SWAN

che has become completely unrecognizable as of late, channeling Whole Lotta Red era Playboi Carti, even taking it further. che turns up the bass so much it could drown you and is doing vocal acrobatics bordering on lunacy. If your ears couldn't handle the first half of this (this is actually tame for che) the second half goes absolutely ballistic sounding like your turning up with demons from outer space. The highlight here are che's adlibs, he's going full goblin mode, genuinely sounding like he needs to be put in a straitjacket. A wild artistic evolution which feels so surreal to witness.

Mel V Chapo - NEVER GAF

Mel V Chapo is severely underrated, making music which makes you feel like you could single handedly collapse a high rise building. Mel V dashes through the track screaming her lungs out with rapid flows that manage to not sound corny. The instrumental sounds like if you got transported into a Space Invaders arcade cabinet that was dipped in acid. Her most recent album Chapolations is filled to the brim with some of most energetic music of 2025 (while also being suprisingly witty), so if for whatever reason you need to get charged up, this is the stuff you need.

ksuuvi - hoppin out (prod rj12 & bbuggin)

"THIS SONG. IS A SONG. THAT WE ALL. MUST FEEL... IN THE MOMENT."

ksuuvi is absolutely losing his marbles on this song. Sounding as if he's on the edge of going insane releasing all his pent up rage for the world, ksuuvi yells at the top his lungs delivering what might be the most unhinged performance of 2025. The instrumental is a take on the new wave of jerk beats but sounds like the voices in your head when you can't fall asleep at 3AM. This is the feeling of having a manic episode encapsulated into a song. The sounds of wanting to bust a move while also losing your damn mind.

xaviersobased - worth it

perubaby - i asked booly if i could use his adlibs (prod. twovrt)

A meta song about the creation of a song where the artist asks a fellow artist if they could use his adlibs in his song, 2025 is really full of surprises. perubaby sounds somewhat like Yeat but that can excused by the absurdity of the concept of the song. Nothing else really matters in this song apart from that hook and the instrumental which sounds you're on a mission to hack into an intergalactic space station whilst under the influence of various substances.

Playboi Carti - LIKE WEEZY

After 5 long years of waiting for the next release from King Vamp we were unblessed with his worst yet most eclectic album. Despite having the most overhyped album of the 2020s there are still scraps of good music (5/30 songs to be specific). A throwback to early 2010s Atlanta sampling Rich Kidz injecting the song with pure fun, you can't help but smile. In all honesty I could not care less about anything Playboi Carti is saying on this but he does a good enough job not to detract from the instrumental.

OsamaSon - Made Sum Plans

OsamaSon who usually raps about sex, money, drugs & fashion offers a suprise by getting in his feelings with a song dedicated to his significant other. Bass still distorts your speakers but not in the way you'd expect, you're head's still gonna be bopping but this time you might get the idea to message that one person who you'd been crushing over instead of raging out alone. OK produces a banger as per usual which feels like entering the doors of an arcade hand in hand with your partner, the cacophony of sounds assaults you but you still feel great cause you're with the person you love.

OsamaSon - Function

OsamaSon does what he does best, rapping over the most bass boosted beats to ever exist. Channeling the attitude of a bratty child (expect he's 22 years old) à la Bart Simpson or Johnny Test specifically  during the hook feeling oddly reminiscent of nursery rhymes intended to mock people. Even with the vocals being swathed in enough bass to cause brain swelling you won't be able to get the hook out of your brain, strangely addictive. The instrumental will obliterate any speaker sounding like a washing machine filled with keys on the verge of exploding. A must listen for bassheads.

Nettspend - impact (feat. xaviersobased)

A spiritual sequel to one of 2023's best songs shine n peace where Nettspend raps about how soon he'll be THAT guy, shining bright among his peers, bringing up his people and enjoying a life of excess. Relishing in his new found fame, impact is Nettspend actually living out what he foretold on shine n peace, bragging about endless parties, being rich and people knowing his "impact". Even following through with bringing his people up by featuring fellow artist xaviersobased. Both instrumentals even feel similar evoking the same feelings of inspiration. The success has definitely gotten to his head but he's still able to make good music.

xaviersobased - red snapper

jackzebra - 魔鬼似爪牙

Chengdu's jackzebra delivers one of 2025's most peculiar songs. Feeling like your in sitting in the corner of a rundown jazz bar at the end of a street you weren't supposed to go down, jackzebra sits on a dimly lit stage with the mic routed into the AutoTune running of his laptop beside him delivering what sounds to be the 2020s answer to free form jazz. Despite the words barely coming out of his mouth and having zero clue as to what is being said you can still feel a despondent yet pensive feeling coming from the vocal delivery which matches the frigid atmosphere of the instrumental. This is modern jazz as instead of sounding like you dusted off the old instruments, you booted up FL Studio and decided to make all the music digitally. The way the bass goes back and forth between the upright bass and sub bass makes the instrumental sound like they were trying to make something original instead of just sounding like imitation. Zero Mandarin is needed for you to feel the music of jackzebra

xaviersobased - double whammy

Bktherula - party on u

Capitalising off last year's brat summer sampling party 4 u off Charli XCX's best album, Bktherula made a sleeper hit that is simultaneously gritty and bubbly. The sample gives a cute vibe as if you're a princess frolicking in a field of daisies but then the vocals offset that with the hook being about unloading bullets onto someone. Bktherula floats on the instrumental but what might sound like she's serenading you is actually swag rap and shooting guns. This might be another case of cheating as this hasn't got a official release (most likely due to sample clearances) but this stuff is so good, you shouldn't ignore this.

prettifun - Last Wish

I personally feel that writing about art that's made about the death of people (especially close friends and family of the artist) feels somewhat disrespectful to critique as you're effectively judging how a person is processing grief and that rubs me the wrong way so i'll refrain slightly but I will say this a beautiful tribute from prettifun. Prayers to all going through similar circumstances.

Awwn1k, 14k - zaroori

What sounds like if the mainstream music industry caught up to the ever-changing underground music scenes expect it took place in India. Coming out of the bubbling underground in India both Awwn1k and 14k team up to create a popified take on the jerk sound. While not squeaky clean like most pop hits zaroori opts for vocals that aren't lathered in AutoTune and are more in line with more traditional singing styles. Awwn1k sounds like he could sing contemporary R&B but just decided not to. The instrumental sounds like your rewinding time, reflecting on past memories of love before finally making the decision to move on. It's truly an exciting time for Indian music.

sufr - jhur baha (feat. anxious)

Another interesting artist emerging from the Indian underground scene is sufr who is arguably the front runner of the scene and might have even forged a path into the mainstream music industry. Revitalizing an ancient santali song into a majestic experience that makes you feel like your levivating across the night sky but still managing to keep intact its traditional aspects. The drums maintain a thumping pulse making you bounce out of your seat but the ethereal melodies and vocals drenched in reverb make you float across the stars. Again sufr forgoes the usual reliance on AutoTune and is really working his vocal cords on this one seperating him from his peers. The combination of traditional Indian music with the more experimental sounds really makes for something special

WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA - Chateaubriand

Some songs are just meant to be experienced live. A couple days after attending Kendrick Lamar and SZA's Grand National Tour (which was honestly underwhelming, I probably would've enjoyed it way more if it were 10 years ago) I took the chance to catch Wednesday Campanella in concert. I hadn't really been paying attention to them since their lead singer changed but was astounded by the pure fun on display. The concert surpassed my expectations, everything was cheerful and bright, it felt like a performance where you could let go of everything and just have fun. Chateaubriand is exemplary of the sorts of fun you could expect from their performances, an upbeat dance track where a majority of the lyrics comprise of listing off the names of different cuts of meat. Utaha is great vocalist and while frankly I still find Wednesday Campanella work with KOM_I more interesting, Utaha is worthy to take the role of the new lead singer for the group and is bringing new energy to a group that has been active for over 10 years.

MexikoDro - Hire

From being a pioneering producer to becoming one of the best artists out of the Atlanta at the moment, MexikoDro is one of them ones. Reviving the essence of old school Atlanta Trap, you could easily put this in a playlist including Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy and T.I, however, MexikoDro doesn't rap about trapping, instead it's inspiration for working people to get up and better themselves. You'll hear the music and feel like putting your head down and getting your hustle on. Imbuing you with the soul of a go getter this is the soundtrack of putting all the bullshit aside and focusing on what really matters.

Side note: I really wish getting a job was really as easy as he says in the bar  “I be clean as fuck. Look at my attire… if I apply for a job, they gone hire”

Jane Remover — JRJRJR

JRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJRJR

MIKE, Tony Seltzer - DOLEMITE (feat. Lunchbox)

Both MIKE and Lunchbox to manage to gain footing on a instrumental which feels like it'll fall apart at any second. The drums come at you from all angles, you can never anticipate when the next percussive element will hit you around the head. The only thing you feel like you could grasp is both the piano and operatic vocal samples that hover across the instrumental. Production that is avant garde but can just about bop your head to. Lunchbox manages to cast this melodious hook on top of the absurdity that grounds the track alongside MIKE who delivers a steady flow detailing the trial and tribulations of life and how he won't let them get in the way of his career. Some of the most eccentric Hip Hop music to come out of 2025

MAVI - Landgrab (feat. Earl Sweatshirt)

MAVI and Earl Sweatshirt come together to gracefully reflect on their journeys and celebrate their success on Landgrab. This is 2 artists showcasing how they can say they're the best (rightfully so) in the most lyrically interesting way's possible. Earl does it so casually like it's really just part of his everyday routine at this point yet is still more lyrically interesting than 90% of other rappers. MAVI holds his own next to a veteran like Earl, bringing energy to the track yet not doing too much to take away from the soulful vibe set by the instrumental. You feel like you should put your feet up by the fireplace and toast to your success once you hear the sample, it's soul food in musical form. This song is short but both MAVI and Earl manage to serve enough on the plate to make you feel satisfied.

Earl Sweatshirt - gsw vs sac

Earl Sweatshirt might be one of the best rappers alive. The intro track from his most recent album Live Laugh Love showcases how far he's grown from being an edgy teen to then an adult struggling with his mental health to then a father who is in a much better place. You can hear Earl smiling cheek to cheek whilst rapping like he's almost gonna burst out laughing encapsulating the title of the album. Earl details how he maneuvers through life, accepting his past struggles making him into the person he is today and inspires you to pull up your own bootstraps. The instrumental comprises of groovy drums alongside a strange sample of weird vocal acrobatics as if possessed by spirit of Rick James. Also shout to the hilarious ending skit by Mandal further inspiring you stop waiting and actually do something for a change.

Earl Sweatshirt - exhaust

“No amount of sugar is gonna help with the taste, At the end of the day it's really just you and whatever you think, I'm airmailing you strength”

Hayden Pedigo - Houndstooth

Hayden Pedigo's music encapsulates that feeling of walking in to your home after a long cold day and it's all worm and cosy and you're pets run up to you all excited that you're home, it's pure bliss. What's so special about this track is when about half way in there's a switch up which includes these gorgeous swells of strings which are otherworldly, they feel like Hayden telling you "YES! YOU CAN DO IT!". Hayden Pedigo's album I'll Be Waving as You Drive Away contains some of best music of 2025 and might be my favourite album of 2025. Sometimes you don't need to have the most experimental or out there sounds, just a man and his guitar, with that you'll have some the best music of the year.

FINALLY IT'S OVER!  Anyways hope someone found AT LEAST one song that they like otherwise I have failed. Definitely not as unhinged with my writing as I used to be but I still had fun with this for the most part, I was struggling to find the motivation to write a lot of this so I hope it's not too bad. Expect more from blossoming chaos but maybe not another list for the time being, so keep an eye out 👁️Till next time and take care <3.
